2018 marked 87 years for the Good Friday Appeal and the third year activeTV has produced the live evening event.

Kavin Jay - "Everybody Calm Down" is politically incorrect, intense and shows Kavin’s warped sense of love, life and liver. Being Malaysian, Kavin Jay was always destined to be angry and easily irritated. He is widely known as Malaysia's grumpiest comedian because he complains about everything so that you don’t have to. You're welcome!

Aboard Genting Dream 'China's Got Talent' is a 45-minute theatrical show in the 999-seat Zodiac Theatre. It opens with an energetic, booming montage, with the same lighting, set design and theme music as the television show. Casting for the performers took place throughout China, tapping into Genting Hong Kong’s experience booking hundreds of acts for its cruise ships and entertainment venues around the world.

Tropest Australia is the largest short film festival in the world and plays an important part in the development of the Australian film industry.

In 2009, activeTV was contracted to produce a two hour live broadcast of the event by Movie Network Channels’ Movie Extra.  activeTV continued to produce the broadcast and in Feburary of 2013 Tropfest was aired for the first time on SBS.

Tropfest 2013 was hosted by Adam Spencer and Yumi Stynes, the broadcast captures all the action of the red carpet, features the films of the 16 finalists’ and interviews with the celebrities judging and in attendance.

Past judges include Nicole Kidman, Cate Blanchett, Naomi Watts, Geoffrey Rush, Toni Collette, Russell Crowe, Ewan McGregor, Samuel L Jackson, Baz Luhrmann, Keanu Reeves, Sam Neill, Salma Hayek, George Miller, Jane Campion and Gabriel Byrne, just to name a few.

Tropfest is open to anyone who wishes to enter.  16 finalists are selected from an entry pool of an average 700 annual entries and compete for more than $100,000 in prizes.  Tropfest films are unique in that all films made for the festival must include the Tropfest Signature Item (TSI).  The TSI changes each year in order to ensure the films have been made specifically for that year’s festival.
